Should Scotland Have Been Awarded at Least One Penalty Against Morocco?
Scotland lost 1–0 to Morocco after conceding in the opening two minutes, but much of the post-match argument centered on two second-half penalty appeals. John McGinn and Scott McTominay both went down in the area and neither incident produced a spot kick or an on-field review. Scotland manager Steve Clarke described the McGinn claim as “50-50,” while a former referee working on the broadcast argued that the later McTominay challenge should have been penalized. The question is whether at least one no-call crossed the line from debatable contact to a clear foul.
